Oppikoppi…..WOW! Fear, Loathing and Death Metal in Limpopo!

The Premier South African Fest!

Great sound, great lighting, crazy assed crowd, christians praying, people moshing, what more can a band ask for?! Dust? Heh heh heh…..

The highlight of our gigging calender each year we play it, ‘Koppi’ is what every band in S.A yearns for, the most proffessional festival in the country.

All organisers should take a page from it’s book and see how it’s done. We were looking forward to it for months and definitely were not dissapointed.

We took the stage at 9pm and laid waste to all and sundry! It’s always great to see “newbies” in the crowd all “wide eyed” and “shell shocked”.

The show was streamed live to great acclaim amd even got a mention on Radio Jacaranda of all places. This year ‘Koppi “upped the ante” by turning the 2nd stage (Most amazing myn stage) into a metal stage for the saturday, supporting local metal and giving the fans what they deserved!

Thanks to Misha, Renee and all the rest of the organisers for putting together an Epic ‘Fest

Anyone who hasn’t attended are well advised to make a plan next year!

Three years ago, on the 7th of July 2007, we Rocked Against Religion and shook a nation to it’s very foundation! It is a date that will live on in infamy. It was a Rock show like no other, a first of it’s kind locally and internationally. Amongst controversy, publicity, ridicule and tension we made South Africa and the world aware that we the Atheist, Irreligious and Agnostic live amongst them, that we are tired of living under the yoke of their dogmatic, oppressive beliefs and that we desire Freedom from Religion!
Looking back this event was the biggest inspiration for our new album Acts of God:4000 years of Phallusy.-Van666

From a simple pun an Idea took hold that became a living breathing entity of epic proportions. It silenced our critics who labelled us as mere “Christian bashers” and opened us up to a new level of loathing towards Religion in general. Religion and faith, separate yet still entwined, spurring people on to mindless devotion and acts of savagery at it’s most extreme. This show started to bring awareness to many due to the large media profile leading up to it, and as we said it is only the beginning, many more will follow. Our new album was wholly triggered/inspired by my research into the phenomena of religion. The info is out there, look into it, research and make your own mind. Question everything.-Anton “Belial”

We just returned from A wicked weekend in Kzn! The Metal and alchohol flowed in abbundance and a brutal time was had by all!
Fuck Yeah!!!
The trip started with a Bang, Literally!We arrived at the scene of an accident where a truck had hit the back of a bakkie(on the N3 highway) and went over the railling, from there on out it was all Down Hill!The Friday night we played at The red door in Pietermaritzburg, which must be the best run alternative/metal venue in the country! What a party, great turnout, great sound and Cheap shooters and Jaime walking around with a permanent smile on his face! Needless to say it was a Very late night! Saturday started off with a hangover for all and sundry, but no complaints to be had! The new look Winston Pub in Durban was the scene for saturday night’s slaughter. With a Line up consisting of: Afflicted Truth, Architecture of Aggression, Pledge Defiance, The Hollow, Tyrannus Totalis and Vengeance Resides ity was always going to be a brutal affair!Well done to Belinda fro The Winston for putting it all together and getting us down there! And Kudos to you for what you’ve done with”‘the Winnie” it’s looking great!
